• Image of Midnight

Over the last year I've been incredibly inspired by artists who have created rich environments for their birds to inhabit and this piece has been heavily influenced by my love of the worlds they create and the story they tell. Unfortunately, as far as stories go this one is probably not a mouse's favourite, but I pretended he was only napping and that got me through the tough time of painting the wee fellow! On a much happier note this barn owl is my latest portrayal of my most beloved owl to paint. I'm endlessly inspired by these ghostly raptors with their soft, silent feathers and I wanted to create a safe place for this chap to roost in place (almost as if I knew what 2020 was going to throw at us!) and a cosy nook in a gnarled old tree seemed the perfect spot.

This fellow has been carefully rendered in oils and painted on a museum standard panel measuring approx 15.5" round. I will include the rough sketch of this piece (second image) to accompany the purchase of this oil painting as a little history of his origins.

Very Important Note: I'm unable to ship this piece until early December, but it will be sent express via courier so will hopefully arrive before Christmas.
